Season / weather permitting Wilkesboro Dragway hosts 15 points races per season (2 points to enter; 2 points per each round won; 5 points for winning the race & 2 races may be dropped).  Gates open at 2:00, qualifying at 4:00 & eliminations at 6:00, unless otherwise posted.   Gear Jammer dates & all races after October 1, 2016; gates open at 12:00, qualifying begins at 2:00 sharp.

Season/weather permitting Wilkesboro Dragway is open each Thursday night for open Test & Tune.  Admission is only $10 to run or $10 to watch (10 & under free). Gates open at 5:00.

Tim Church and his 80's era Camaro used a semi final run Saturday night to clinch the 2016 Wilkesboro Dragway Top ET championship.


The night started off with a 3 way battle between Roger Robertson, Jim Bo Sells,
and points leader; Tim Church. Both Roger Robertson and Jim Bo Sells' night ended early, handing the championship to Church. Rounding out the top 5, Jim Bo Sells finished second with former Top ET champions Roger Robertson and Tom Lamby third and forth. Coy McLeod used the final round appearance to vault him to a fifth place finish. In Top ET action Saturday night, former champion Clyde McKinney put his Camaro in the winners circle by taking the win over Coy McLeod and his classic 57 Chevy.


Neal Church won the first round to clinch his championship in Modified ET, and finished up the season with a 26 point advantage over one of the best young racers in the Southeast, the one and only Hannah "Bubblegum" Blevins. Church's five win season was his best season in over a decade. Rounding out the top five in points was former track Modified ET champions Johnny Hodges and Dennis Coffey and finishing 5th was Jonathan Hodges. In racing action Saturday, Tez Powell and his new Chevy truck defeated the classic Nova driven by Johnny Hodges.

2016 Street Division champion Wayne Ward had a career year. With combined Modified ET and Street entries, Ward was in the final round 11 times turning 6 of those into victories! The rest of the top 5 in points are as follows, Bill Crane, Nick Branch, Charles Pendley, and Austin Chance. Saturday night, Jerry Triplett and his classic Falcon Futura defeated 2016 champion Wayne Ward in his 70 Mach 1.


And Keep your eyes peeled for more great wins from 1st year racer, 8 year old Piper Corey who won the Jr. Dragster championship.

This week at NC's oldest drag-strip, the future of the sport will be showcased in the Jr. Dragster Backyard Bash! Things get started Thursday night with the popular Test N Tune night. For only $10 you can race, watch or do both!Gates open @530pm.
Saturday the gate will open at 2pm for bracket racing in all divisions and the Jr. Dragster Backyard Bash.Some of the areas best young talent will be racing for a $800 purse in 3 different divisions.
