Racers from all over the southeast converged on Wilkesboro Dragway Saturday for the 9th annual Race Against Cancer.
The RAC was created to support local people and their families with much needed extra funds for food, bills, meds, etc. that they incur during this trying time.
Almost 300 entries made this race the most successful race to date!
Eddie Dearing took home the trophy for Top ET, while Hannah "Bubblegum" Blevins won Modified ET. Other winners were, Corey Smith in Street, Slade Kincer in Jr. Dragster and Austin Babb in motorcycles, but the real winners are the local cancer victims this race supports. A complete total hasn't been reached as of yet, but is expected to exceed $15,000! The event promoters Frank and Diane Roberts alone with the owners and staff of Wilkesboro Dragway, would like to send a big thank you to the fans and racers that
made this race the huge success it was!
This week at Wilkesboro Dragway, everything gets started Thursday at 5pm when the gates open to the popular Test N Tune night. For only $10 you can race your car down the famed dragstrip to hone your skills or just to have fun. Then on Saturday, the 4.90 Outlaws make  their final 2017 appearance and crown their 2017 champion in the season ending race.
